AMERICAN LEGION CONTINUES SUPPORT
OF MACEDONIA VIETNAM VETERAN
U.S. Army Chaplain Fred Quigley continues to be threatened with legal action
by his Condominium Owners Association because he has erected a flagpole on
his front lawn and is displaying an American flag.
"It is ironic and unfortunate that now on July 4th, 235 years after the
signing of our Declaration of Independence, we must make a stand to defend
the state of Ohio law that allows him to fly our nation's colors from a
flagpole," said Nordonia Hills American Legion Post 801 Sergeant-at-Arms and
Macedonia resident Jim Szabo.
Post Commander John J.C. Sullivan said "The best resolution to this
situation is for the HOA to let it die a quiet death. Their pursuit of
litigation continues to harm their own reputation and that of the City of
Macedonia."
The Post, along with our fellow veterans and citizens, will again show our
support for Lt. Colonel Quigley and Ohio State law by conducting a second
flag raising ceremony at his residence at 1100 on Monday July 4th, 2011.
WHERE: 8581 Alexis Drive, Macedonia, Ohio.
DIRECTIONS: East Aurora Rd. (State Route 82), east of Valley View Rd. Turn
south onto Migliorini Way, then left to 8581 Alexsis Dr.
For groups attending, we suggest meeting in the parking lot of VFW Post
#6768, 8584 Olde Eight Rd. Northfield Center (south of St. Route 8 before
Highland Rd.) and carpooling from there.

American Legion Post 801 Nordonia Hills in District 14 of the
Ohio American Legion meets the 2nd Wednesday of every
month during the year except for July and August. We are
currently meeting in the back meeting hall of the Northfield
VFW located in Northfield . We keep the side door open until
the meeting starts.
